I am the very proud owner of a Schurr Profi II twin paddle key. This is undoubtedly German engineering at its very best. The base and
components are made from surgical brass and is very heavy. This prevents the module from moving around the desk if you get overly
excited and start rattling out characters at very high speed. The adjustment features of this key are just superb. If like me, your
preference is for a very tight gap, the spacing is simple to adjust and there is no need for further “tweaking” , even after many hours
of use. If you can afford one, I would thoroughly recommend this product.
To compliment my Profi II paddle, I bought the K5 electronic keyer. This super box of tricks is manufactured by the American
company Idiom Press. Capable of all sorts of features including speed & weighting adjustment, number serialisation & macros for
contesting etc etc. As yet, I have made little use of the additional characteristics of the keyer, but its nice to know that I can.
Competitively priced, I would also commend this particular keyer to you as a “must have” for your shack if you are a CW operator.
